Introducing New Intern: Emily
Meet Emily: Our New Counseling Intern
We are excited to welcome Emily to the Wanderlust Therapy team!
Emily is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling graduate student who is completing her clinical training with Wanderlust Therapy. As part of her internship experience, Emily will be shadowing, learning alongside Jennifer, and beginning to work directly with clients under supervision. She will also be offering reduced-rate counseling sessions, creating an additional option for individuals and families seeking supportive and affordable mental health care.
Emily is passionate about working with women, children, and adolescents as they navigate concerns related to relationships, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and life’s challenges. Her approach is grounded in empathy, encouragement, and creating a judgment-free environment where clients feel heard, supported, and valued.
She is especially drawn to person-centered counseling and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and is pursuing a specialization in play therapy as she continues developing her clinical skills.
Emily’s interest in becoming a counselor began at a young age after a close friend trusted her with their mental health struggles. That experience helped shape her desire to enter the helping profession and provide others with the compassion and support they deserve.
Emily believes growth deserves to be celebrated in all its forms—whether it feels like a huge breakthrough or one small step forward.
Outside of counseling, Emily enjoys traveling with her husband, spending time at the beach, and rewatching some of her favorites, including Harry Potter, The Office, and Bob’s Burgers.
We are so happy to have Emily joining Wanderlust Therapy and look forward to watching her grow as a counselor while expanding the ways we can support our community.
